Jakarta – Presiden Joko Widodo menyampaikan apresiasi terhadap PT Pindad yang telah melakukan perkembangan yang sangat cepat dalam industri pertahanan Tanah Air. Apresiasi tersebut disampaikan Kepala Negara usai berkunjung ke PT Pindad (Persero) di Kota Bandung, Provinsi Jawa Barat pada Selasa, 19 September 2023.
“Perkembangan dari PT Pindad ini saya melihat sangat luar biasa cepatnya,” ujar Presiden dalam keterangannya kepada awak media usai peninjauan.
Presiden Jokowi menyebut perkembangan produksi PT Pindad tidak hanya meliputi peluru dan amunisi. Namun, saat ini PT Pindad juga melakukan perkembangan cepat di bidang kendaraan tempur.
“Sekarang kita melihat di sini yang berkaitan dengan kendaraan tempur dan saya melihat juga perkembangannya sangat cepat sekali,” ungkap Presiden.
Melihat perkembangan tersebut, Presiden meyakini industri pertahanan Indonesia akan masuk ke dalam peringkat 50 besar dunia pada tahun 2025 mendatang. Presiden mengatakan bahwa peringkat PT Pindad berada pada posisi 79 di tahun 2022 yang lalu.
“Kita perkirakan tahun 2024 akan masuk ke angka 60, tetapi di 2025 kita sudah masuk ke top 50. Jadi progresnya kelihatan dan kalau kita lihat hasil produksinya, produk-produknya ini sangat bagus,” ucap Presiden.
Selain perkembangan yang cepat, PT Pindad juga berhasil meningkatkan pendapatan dari Rp25 triliun pada tahun 2022 menjadi Rp27 triliun pada tahun 2023. Peningkatan pendapatan tersebut berasal dari pesanan sejumlah kebutuhan kendaraan tempur dan amunisi, baik di dalam negeri maupun sejumlah negara lainnya.
“Artinya ada sebuah prospek, ada sebuah peluang yang harus dimanfaatkan,” tutur Presiden.
Turut mendampingi Presiden dalam kunjungan kali ini adalah Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto, Menteri Sekretaris Negara Pratikno, Kepala Staf TNI Angkatan Darat (KSAD) Jenderal TNI Dudung Abdurachman, Pj Gubernur Jawa Barat Bey Machmudin, Plh. Wali Kota Bandung Ema Sumarna, dan Dirut PT Pindad (Persero) Abraham Mose.
