Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Karyoto akan mengevaluasi penggunaan plat nomor kendaraan dinas Kepolisian untuk menghindari penyalahgunaan serta mengantisipasi pemalsuan yang kerap terjadi.
“Kalau pelat kendaraan, memang kadang (pedagang) kaki lima bisa membuatnya. Baik itu yang asli ataupun yang palsu, sesuai dengan keinginan pembeli,” kata Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto saat ditemui di Jakarta, Senin (8/5/2023).
Polda Metro Jaya akan melakukan evaluasi terakit pengguna pelat nomor dinas, mengingat ada pihak yang ternyata berani memakai plat kendaraan dinas yang terbukti palsu.
“Artinya dia bukan meminjam kendaraan temannya, memang diperuntukkan (plat) untuk mobilnya dia, kenapa dipasang? Ternyata dia menginginkan kalau pakai nomor polisi ini aksesnya jadi lebih luas, tidak mengenal ganjil- genap” jelasnya.
Pernyataan Kapolda sendiri, merujuk sosok David Yulianto (32), sosok “koboi jalanan” yang viral dan berhasil ditangkap karena bersikap arogan dan menggunakan plat dinas polisi palsu baru-baru ini.
David yang kini ditetapkan sebagai tersangka menggunakan nomor dinas kepolisian untuk menghindari ganjil genap atau bisa melewati jalur busway dan bahu jalan tol, tanpa khawatir ditangkap.
Karyoto menjelaskan, pihaknya akan berkoordinasi dengan seluruh jajarannya, untuk menertibkan penggunaan pelat dinas secara internal terlebih dahulu.
“Apakah sudah anggota kami disiplin yang menggunakan mobil-mobil dengan plat dinas?” jelasnya.
Kedua, lanjutnya, para pedagang kaki lima pembuat nomor pelat kendaraan, juga akan diimbau, untuk tidak membuat plat nomor apabila tidak ada Surat Tanda Nomor Kendaraan (STNK).
Dia pun menegaskan, plat nomor yang dibikin oleh pedagang kaki lima di pinggir jalan sifatnya sementara, untuk mengganti yang rusak atau hilang.
“Tentunya kalau ada yang pesan itu harus menunjukkan STNK. Itu sementara tidak sifatnya permanen dipasang di mobil itu,” imbuhnya.(Redaksi Swanara)
