Jayapura – Kapolda Papua Irjen Pol. Mathius D. Fakhiri, S.I.K., beserta Wakapolda Papua Brigjen Pol. Ramdani Hidayat, S.H., mendampingi kunjungan kerja Kabaharkam Polri, Komjen Pol. Dr. H. Mohammad Fadil Imran, M.Si., di Dusun Yanemyo, Kampung Suskun, Distrik Arso Timur, Kabupaten Keerom, Sabtu (14/10/2023).
Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menjalin tatap muka dengan pemerintah daerah, tokoh masyarakat, tokoh adat, dan petani jagung Kabupaten Keerom.
Dalam kegiatan tersebut, hadir juga Pejabat Utama Baharkam Polri, Kakorbinmas Baharkam Polri, Irjen Pol Hary Sudwijanto, S.IK., M.Si, Karorenmin Baharkam Polri, Brigjen Pol Agung Julianto, S.I.K., M.Si, Pejabat Utama Polda Papua, Kapolres Keerom, AKBP Christian Aer, S.H.,S.IK, Bupati Keerom, Piter Gusbager, S.Hut.,MUP, Pabung Kodim 1701/Jayapura, Mayor Inf Suwito dan Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Keerom.
Rangkaian kegiatan dimulai dengan tarian adat Papua menyambut kedatangan rombongan Kapolda dan Kabaharkam Polri.
Selanjutnya, tatap muka dimulai dengan doa yang dipimpin oleh Ketua FKUB Kabupaten Keerom, KH Nursalim Arrozy, S.Pdi.
Bupati Keerom, Piter Gusbager, S.Hut.,MUP., mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Mabes Polri, Baharkam Polri, Korbinmas Polri, dan Polda Papua atas perhatian yang diberikan kepada masyarakat Keerom.
Ia menekankan pentingnya pusat pelatihan budidaya jagung di Keerom sebagai langkah untuk mengatasi kemiskinan ekstrim dan meningkatkan ekonomi daerah.

“Pusat pelatihan budidaya jagung di Tanah Papua ini tergolong pertama kalinya. Lahan ini kita kerjakan bersama masyarakat dan petani dalam bentuk menanam jagung serta terdapat juga berbagai dukungan sarana prasarana dalam pusat pelatihan yang diharapkan dapat mendorong teknologi pertanian di Kabupaten Keerom,” tuturnya.
Selanjutnya, Kabaharkam Polri, Komjen Pol Dr. H. Mohammad Fadil Imran, M.Si., dalam sambutannya menekankan pentingnya pusat pelatihan jagung di Keerom sebagai pusat percontohan bagi wilayah-wilayah baru dan mendorong kemandirian ekonomi serta teknologi pertanian.
“Keerom dipilih sebagai tempat pusat pelatihan budidaya tanaman pangan jagung karena mempunyai keistimewaan tersendiri sehingga patut untuk dipertahankan. Saya tidak ingin pusat pelatihan ini hanya menjadi simbolik,” ucapnya.
Pada kesempatan ini, Kabaharkam Polri juga mengucapkan terimakasih atas perencanaan Pemerintah Daerah untuk menghibahkan tanah seluas 20 hektar yang sebelumnya dimiliki oleh masyarakat adat kepada Polri.
“Langkah ini dianggap sebagai bukti nyata dukungan Pemerintah Daerah terhadap kinerja Polri dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pengembangan dan budidaya teknologi pertanian,” ucapnya.
Komjen Pol Mohammad Fadil Imran juga menyoroti pentingnya pusat pelatihan ini dalam menyerap keunggulan masyarakat lokal dalam teknologi pertanian. Ia menyebutnya sebagai sebuah ekosistem ekonomi di mana terdapat permodalan, suplai bibit dan pupuk, serta upaya pemberantasan hama yang efektif.
“Dari tanah Keerom untuk Papua dalam kemajuan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat Papua. Kami juga Polri belajar disini. Saya kira kalau semua ada penghasilan yang bagus semua dapat berkontribusi maka gangguan kamtibmas dapat terjamin kondusif,” tambahnya.
Kunjungan Kabaharkam Polri ini juga menjadi kesempatan untuk memberikan penghargaan kepada bhabinkamtibmas yang bertugas di daerah tersebut. “Diharapkan penghargaan ini akan menjadi motivasi bagi mereka untuk terus meningkatkan prestasi dalam karier mereka,” katanya.(Redaksiswanara)
