Jakarta.- Direktorat Tindak Pidana Umum Bareskrim Polri meringkus 61 orang dalam kasus sindikat telecom fraud atau penipuan online jaringan internasional.
Rinciannya, 55 orang pelaku WNA dan enam orang pelaku WNI. Dirtipidum Bareskrim Polri Brigjen Pol Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro mengatakan, puluhan pelaku telah menjalankan penipuan ini kurang lebih selama satu tahun.
“Tak tanggung-tanggung, estimasi keuntungan yang diperoleh para pelaku dalam jangan waktu satu bulan kurang lebih puluhan miliar. Total keuntungan selama beroperasi kurang lebih selama satu tahun yang didapat oleh sindikat ini mencapai ratusan miliar,” ujar Brigjen Pol Djuhandani di Jakarta, Rabu (5/4/2023).
Seluruh pelaku ditangkap di tiga lokasi berbeda di hari yang sama yakni 4 April 2023. Brigjen Pol Djuhandani mengatakan, pengungkapan kasus ini berdasar informasi dari masyarakat.
“Setelah dilakukan penyelidikan, tim menindak dugaan penipuan melalui media elektronik jaringan internasional dan atau ilegal akses dan atau penggunaan dokumen perjalanan dan visa tidak sah, serta pemalsuan visa izin tinggal,” ucap Brigjen Pol Djuhandani.
Adapun untuk modus operasinya adalah call center bertugas mencari identitas calon korban. Lalu kemudian menghubungi korban dan mengaku sebagai penegak hukum dan menyampaikan jika korban sedang terkait suatu perkara.
“Kemudian korban diminta menelpon pihak kepolisian ke nomor yang diberikan. Selanjutnya korban menelpon dan terjadi tawar menawar, sampai akhirnya korban mau mentransfer ke rekening pelaku,” tutur Brigjen Pol Djuhandani. Modus lainnya adalah pelaku menawarkan barang elektronik dengan mengirim link. Namun barang tak pernah sampai setelah korban membayar.
Atas perbuatannya, para pelaku dijerat dengan Pasal 28 ayat 1 Jo. Pasal 45A; Pasal 32 Jo Pasal 48; Pasal 35 Jo Pasal 51 UU Nomor 11 Tahun 2008, serta Pasal 119 ayat 1; Pasal 121 huruf B; Pasal 122 huruf A UU Nomor 6 Tahun 2011.
“Dan mengingat hukum yang berlaku di Indonesia menganut azas locus dan tempus, sementara berdasarkan hasil penyelidikan yang dilakukan bahwa korban terkait tindak pidana ini berada di luar negeri, maka rencana akan dilaksanakan police to police melalui Divhubinter dan Imigrasi,” tutup Brigjen Pol Djuhandani.
