Dengan adanya surat Edaran Bupati Jember tersebut Bhabinkamtibmas Polsek ambulu Aipda Eka Bhakti MP SH, Serda Eko Sidik Babinsa Sumberejo,Afik,Bukhari anggota satpol serta Petugas loket watu ulo melakukan pemasangan papan larangan untuk mandi maupun berendam di pantai selatan ini dengan tulisan 1. Warga dilarang mandi di pantai, 2. Warga dilarang melakukan kegiatan ritual di pantai watu ulo dan payangan.
“Kami tegaskan, warga atau pengunjung dilarang untuk mandi,berendam melakukan kegiatan ritual di pantai dengan alasan keamanan,” Ujar Aipda Eka Bhakti, Minggu (27/02/2022)
Kita lihat memang laut selatan terkenal dengan pantai yang bersih dan indah menjadikan tempat wisata yang cukup diminati oleh masyarakat lokal maupun luar Kabupaten Jember. Setiap tahunnya, ribuan wisatawan mengunjungi wisata pantai selatan untuk menikmati keindahan alam Kabupaten Jember. Apalagi di saat libur Lebaran jumlah pengunjung yang datang mencapai ribuan orang.
Pada saat itulah aturan larangan mandi di laut banyak dilanggar. Hingga Banyak wisatawan asing dan domestik dilaporkan tergulung ombak saat mandi di pantai. Selain itu pula sering dilakukan sebagai tempat ritual suatu kelompok tertentu dengan berendam di pantai, Ini dikarenakan Ombak tinggi, perubahan cuaca sulit diduga. Bahkan pekan lalu, ombak besar dan angin kencang di Pantai Payangan sudah memakan belasan korban meninggal. Sehingga kehati-hatian perlu ditingkatkan,” kata Eka Bhakti.
