Jakarta – Polri mengimbau masyarakat yang akan mudik mudik menuju kampung halaman tahun ini tidak menggunakan sepeda motor sebagai sarana transportasi, Polri menyarankan pemudik menggunakan transportasi umum guna menurunkan risiko kecelakaan.
Direktur Keselamatan dan Keamanan Korlantas Polri Brigjen Ery Nursatari mengatakan, motor merupakan kendaraan dengan angka kecelakaan lalu lintas tertinggi di Indonesia.
“Menggunakan kendaraan sepeda motor itu saat mudik lebaran sangat riskan terhadap kecelakaan,” kata Direktur Keselamatan dan Keamanan Korlantas Polri Brigjen Ery Nursatari, Senin (13/3/2023).
Ery juga menyampaikan masyarakat lebih baik menggunakan moda transportasi umum dan transportasi yang difasilitasi oleh pemerintah yang sudah disediakan daripada mudik naik motor.
“Kami minta pemudik lebaran gunakanlah fasilitas itu daripada harus hilang nyawa. Meskipun kita tidak tau masalah nyawa itu. Masyarakat harus menyadari bahwa pemerintah bertujuan baik,” ucap Ery.
Kementerian Perhubungan memprediksi pada tahun ini bakal terjadi lonjakan mudik menjadi 123 juta orang. Pada tahun lalu masyarakat yang mudik sebanyak 85 juta orang.
Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi menjelaskan sebagian besar dari 123 juta orang itu menggunakan angkutan darat, roda empat dan roda dua.
Budi juga mengimbau masyarakat tidak memilih motor sebagai kendaraan mudik tahun ini.
“Dengan segala kerendahan hati, kami mengimbau kepada saudaraku, tidak menggunakan motor untuk mudik. Karena menggunakan motor, berbanding lurus dengan tingkat kecelakaan yang ada,” kata Budi, Sabtu (11/3).
Sebagai alternatif motor untuk mudik, Budi menyarankan warga menggunakan transportasi umum seperti kereta, bus atau pesawat. Selain itu bisa juga memanfaatkan program mudik gratis yang disediakan pemerintah atau swasta.(Red)
