Malang – Kepolisian melakukan pendalaman terkait praktik perdagangan BPKB dan STNK yang diperjualbelikan secara online atau daring di media sosial. Kapolresta Malang Kota, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto, S.I.K., M.Si., menjelaskan bahwa pendalaman tersebut dilakukan setelah pihaknya membongkar sindikat pelaku pencurian kendaraan bermotor yang bisa mengubah nomor rangka dan nomor mesin kendaraan.
“Seharusnya tidak diperjualbelikan, ini kami masih didalami penyidik tentang penjualan BPKB dan STNK secara online,” jelasnya.
Kapolres mengungkapkan bahwa dokumen negara berupa BPKB dan STNK tersebut seharusnya melekat pada kendaraan yang dimiliki masyarakat. Dokumen tersebut seharusnya tidak boleh diperjualbelikan secara terpisah dari kendaraannya.
Ada sejumlah pihak yang memanfaatkan kondisi tersebut dengan membeli BPKB dan STNK tanpa kendaraan yang melekat tersebut.
“Banyak kendaraan-kendaraan yang hilang, setelah itu BPKB dan STNK hanya disimpan. Kemudian, ada yang mengumpulkan untuk berbisnis menjual dokumen asli tetapi tanpa kendaraan,” jelasnya.
Polresta Malang Kota menangkap dua orang pelaku pencurian kendaraan bermotor roda dua berinisial MS warga Kecamatan Lawang, Kabupaten Malang dan RD warga Kabupaten Blitar.

Kapolres pun mengimbau masyarakat yang akan membeli kendaraan bekas untuk melakukan pengecekan nomor rangka dan nomor mesin pada Samsat terdekat.
“Kami mengimbau masyarakat apabila membeli kendaraan bekas segera cek nomor rangka dan nomor mesin. Ini bisa dilakukan pada cek fisik di kantor Samsat terdekat,”katanya.(Redaksiswanara)
