Jakarta – Permasalahan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) ilegal tak hanya terkait legalitas mereka bekerja di luar negeri.
Menteri Koordinator Bidang Pembangunan Manusia dan Kebudayaan (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy menyebutkan, PMI ilegal kerap menjadi korban kekerasan.
“Menurut saya permasalahan PMI tidak hanya ilegal, namun juga beberapa masalah yang juga terjadi di PMI legal. Permasalahan itu mulai dari tindak kriminal hingga tindak kekerasan bagi PMI,” ujarnya.
Menko Muhadjir mengatakan, untuk mengantisipasinya, Mabes Polri ditugaskan mengambil alih kepengurusan Gugus Tugas Penanganan Tindak Pidana Perdagangan Orang (TPPO). Sebelumnya kepengurusan penanganan TPPO diketuai oleh Menteri Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati.
“Memang kita melakukan evaluasi dan usulan kemudian dirapatkan secara internal dengan Bapak Presiden dan memutuskan bahwa untuk ketua pelaksana dialihkan kepada Kapolri,” ujarnya.
Menko Muhadjir menjelaskan, pergantian Ketua Pelaksana Gugus Tugas TPPO itu dimaksudkan agar penegakan hukum dan pidana dapat dikedepankan. Sebab, sebelumnya, penanganan PMI ilegal berkaitan dengan pencegahan dan penanganan pascakasus.
“Terutama dari sisi ketua pelaksana. Karena memang sebetulnya masalah tindak pidana perdagangan orang ini bobotnya lebih ke penegakan hukum dan pidana,” katanya.(Redaksiswanara)
