Perbaikan jalan rusak secara gotong royong tersebut dilakukan polisi bersama warga sebagai bentuk kepedulian terhadap para pengguna jalan, khususnya kendaraan Roda dua dan roda empat yang sering mengalami pecah ban/kecelakaan saat melintas.
Kapolsek Mandalle Iptu Markarma Saleh, S.Sos mengatakan, perbaikan jalan itu dilakukan semata-mata untuk menekan tingginya angka kecelakaan yang terjadi di lokasi.
Menurutnya, kegiatan penambalan lubang dengan menggunakan paving blok dengan semen hingga rata diharapkan dapat melancarkan arus lalu lintas sekaligus memberikan kenyamanan bagi pengguna jalan roda dua dan roda empat saat melintas.
“Kondisi kerusakan jalan itu semakin lama semakin parah, jika dibiarkan terus menerus akan ada berapa banyak lagi pengendara yang akan menjadi korban. Ini langkah antisipasi kita agar tidak terjadi kecelakaan karena menghindari jalan berlubang,” ungkap Kapolsek.
