NTT -;Pertemuan ASEAN Ministerial Meeting On Transnational Crime (AMMTC) ke-17 di Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), telah berakhir untuk sesi hari ini, dan akan dilanjutkan pada esok hari.
Adapun hasil sidang AMMTC hari ini, Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo sekaligus Ketua AMMTC meneken Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) atau nota kesepahaman dengan enam negara.
Adapun keenam negara yang melakukan penandatanganan MoU yakni, Laos, Singapura, Thailand, Vietnam, Kamboja, dan Malaysia.
Penandatanganan secara garis besar tersebut berisikan terkait dengan kerja sama soal pencegahan dan penegakan hukum terhadap kejahatan lintas negara atau Transnational Crime.
Selain itu, penandatangan MoU juga meneken terkait peningkatan pembangunan kapasitas antar negara.
Sebelumnya, Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo resmi membuka proses sidang ASEAN Ministerial Meeting On Transnational Crime (AMMTC) ke-17 di Labuan Bajo.
Dalam pemaparan awalnya memimpin sidang, Sigit menekankan bahwa, pembahasan AMMTC ini harus memiliki semangat untuk terus mengedepankan keamanan dan stabilitas kawasan demi mewujudkan kemakmuran di ASEAN.
“Dalam jalannya diskusi, kita harus selalu mengingat bahwa keamanan rakyat dan stabilitas kawasan menjadi prioritas utama demi mewujudkan kemakmuran bagi ASEAN,” kata Sigit dalam sidang AMMTC di Ballroom Hotel Meruorah Labuan Bajo, Senin (21/08/2023).
Lebih dalam, Sigit menegaskan, karena memiliki kedekatan geografis, negara di ASEAN saat ini, sama-sama menghadapi musuh bersama yakni kejahatan lintas negara yang tidak mengenal batas negara, kedaulatan negara, dan hukum yang berlaku.
“Kita telah menyaksikan, bahwa kejahatan lintas negara telah merubah modus operandinya, termasuk mengambil keuntungan dari celah yang ada dan perkembangan teknologi,” ujarnya.
Untuk mencegah serta memberangus praktik kejahatan lintas negara, Sigit menyebut, setiap negara harus bekerja sama dan berkolaborasi dalam penegakan hukum. Hal itu menjadi kunci.
“Guna memperkuat komitmen untuk memberantas dan menanggulangi kejahatan transnasional, kita harus berpikir dan bertindak sebagai satu komunitas, dengan tetap menghargai hukum dan aturan yang berlaku di masing-masing negara,” ucap Sigit.
Menurut Sigit, Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) selalu menekankan bahwa, ASEAN harus menjadi kawasan yang stabil dan damai, serta jangkar bagi stabilitas dunia.
Kemudian, harus konsisten menjunjung tinggi hukum internasional dan tidak bertindak sebagai proxy bagi siapapun. Harus menjadi kawasan yang bermartabat, dan menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai kemanusiaan serta demokrasi.
“Harus memperkuat diri untuk menjadi kawasan ekonomi yang tumbuh cepat, inklusif dan berkelanjutan,” tutur Kapolri menyampaikan komitmen Presiden Jokowi.
Sebab itu, Sigit meyakini, pertemuan AMMTC ini akan terus menjadi sarana dan mekanisme yang berarti di kawasan. Kuatnya komitmen antar-negara akan menghasilkan capaian dan upaya konkret yang akan bermanfaat bagi kepentingan di dalam dan di luar kawasan.
“Dalam rapat yang terhormat ini, izinkan saya menegaskan kembali pentingnya komunikasi dan kerja sama menjaga stabilitas, keamanan, dan perdamaian di kawasan. Dukungan, ide, dan kontribusi berharga anda dalam pertemuan ini akan bermanfaat bagi hasil pertemuan ini,” katanya.(Redaksiswanara)
