Betonisasi dilakukan di jalan yang menjadi salah satu jalan alternatif antar desa sepanjang 189 meter. Jalan alternatif yang digunakan untuk mengurangi kemacetan tersebut, menjadi salah satu sasaran Program Karya Bakti Mandiri (KBM) Kodim 0716/Demak di tahun 2022.
Komandan Kodim 0716/Demak, Letkol Czi Pribadi Setya Pratomo, mengatakan, betonisasi jalan ini menjadi program dalam membantu pemerintah daerah dalam hal pembangunan. “Alhamdulillah, betonisasi jalan yang menjadi alternatif di Desa Karangawen, sudah berjalan dan terus kami kerjakan bersama warga. Kami berharap jalan ini akan membantu masyarakat dalam beraktivitas,” terang Dandim Demak, Rabu (14/9/2022).
Selain itu, Dandim menegaskan, meski ada pihak yang menyebut TNI itu ‘gerombolan’, dengan adanya hasil kerja nyata ini, diharapkan semakin menambah kecintaan rakyat terhadap TNI. “Silakan menyebut Kami (TNI) sebagai gerombolan, dan inilah hasil kerja ‘gerombolan’ yang solid, yang bekerja atas dasar cinta tanah air dan wujud kerja sama dan sinergitas antara TNI dan Rakyat,” tambah Dandim Demak.
Memurut Kepala Desa Karangawen, Purhadi, perbaikan jalan ini terakhir kali dilakukan pada tahun 1996. “Sebelumnya banyak warga yang mengeluh dan selalu menyalahkan pemerintah desa. Dikira kami gak bisa nangani, gak mau kerja, dan sebagainya. Sekarang Alhamdulillah, dari Program TNI dan inisiatif Pak Dandim, warga desa sangat senang dan berterima kasih dengan dibetonnya jalan yang juga jadi akses alternatif,” kata Purhadi.
