Swanara-Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) mengapresiasi pengendalian demo BEM-SI 11 April 2022 oleh Polda Metro Jaya karena berjalan aman tanpa bentrok massa mahasiswa dengan aparat.
Hal ini dikarenakan, Polri telah berkomitmen untuk mengawal aksi demo dengan pelayanan dan pengamanan humanis.
Kendati terjadi kericuhan, dengan dikeroyoknya pegiat media sosial Ade Armando di depan Gedung DPR dan juga enam anggota Polri terluka karena lemparan batu saat mengamankan Ade.
Namun kejadian itu setelah aksi mahasiswa selesai dan bukan dilakukan oleh peserta aksi dari mahasiswa.
Aksi dengan ribuan mahasiswa itu, berjalan damai karena manajemen pengendalian massa yang tepat oleh Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Fadil Imran terhadap anggotanya yang mengawal unjuk rasa sangat elegan.
Tidak ada kekerasan dan tidak terlihat sikap arogan dari aparat.
Hal itu dikarenakan Kapolda Metro menerapkan strategi pengawasan melekat dan memimpin langsung anggotanya.
Sejak awal, Kapolda telah memberi arahan terkait penggunaan alat-alat kendali demo yang soft dengan perintah tegas larangan membawa senjata dan peluru tajam.
Pengamanan demo merujuk Perpol Pengendalian massa nomor 16 tahun 2016 dan Perkap tentang penggunaan kekuatan dalam tindakan kepolisian.
Terbukti tidak ada massa mahasiswa luka karena kekerasan aparat dan penggunaan water canon serta gas airmata sesuai SOP.
