Jakarta – Direktur Jenderal Imigrasi Silmy Karim menargetkan seluruh kantor Imigrasi menerbitkan paspor elektronik pada akhir 2023.
“Insya Allah akhir 2023 ini semua kantor Imigrasi yang berjumlah 126 kantor bisa melayani penerbitan paspor elektronik. Saat ini sedang kami persiapkan infrastrukturnya,” ujar Silmy.
Selain menyiapkan infrastruktur kesisteman, Silmy juga menginstruksikan penambahan stok paspor elektronik seiring tren meningkatnya permintaan paspor ber-chip tersebut pada beberapa bulan belakangan ini.
Silmy bakal memonitor langsung stok ketersediaan blangko paspor elektronik di 52 kantor Imigrasi yang telah melayani penerbitan paspor elektronik.
“Harus diakui, saat ini stok blangkonya sedang menipis, tapi kami terus menambah persediaannya untuk memenuhi permintaan paspor elektronik yang makin meningkat,” tutur Silmy.
Silmy juga menyinggung rencana kenaikan kelas beberapa kantor Imigrasi yang dipandang siap untuk ditingkatkan kelasnya. Hal ini sebagai adaptasi atas perkembangan kualitas pelayanan publik yang harus terus ditingkatkan.
“Kami pikir kantor Imigrasi yang seperti Bandung ini bisa ditingkatkan kelasnya menjadi kelas 1 khusus, mengingat beban kerjanya yang tinggi dan lokasinya yang strategis. Saya juga usulkan kantor Imigrasi lain untuk dinaikkan kelasnya,” ujarnya.(Redaksiswanara)
