Jakarta – Helikopter wisata di Nepal yang membawa lima penumpang dan satu pilot mengalami kecelakaan, enam orang yang ada di helikopter tewas, pada Selasa (11/7/23).
Helikopter jatuh tak lama setelah lepas landas. Helikopter dari Manang Air itu rencananya akan terbang menuju Ibu Kota Nepal, Kathmandu, melewati jalur ekspedisi Gunung Everest.
Menurut laporan Otoritas Penerbangan Sipil Nepal (CAAN), helikopter hilang kontak delapan menit setelah lepas landas pada Selasa pagi.
“Keenam jenazah telah ditemukan dan dibawa ke Kathmandu. Lima penumpang yang dibawa merupakan warga Meksiko. Sementara pilot merupakan warga negara Nepal,” ungkapnya.
Dua helikopter dikerahkan untuk pencarian dan penyelamatan korban. Namun, kedua helikopter tidak dapat mendarat di lokasi kecelakaan karena cuaca buruk.
“Tim di lapangan membawa jenazah ke helikopter yang bisa mendarat di dekatnya,” jelasnya.
Lhakpa Sherpa seorang penduduk setempat yang ikut dalam upaya pencarian dan penyelamatan, mengatakan lokasi jatuhnya pesawat sangat mengerikan. Menurutnya, helikopter menabrak pohon kemudian terbanting ke tanah.
Perdana Menteri Pushpa Kamal Dahal menyampaikan dukacita atas insiden tersebut.
Kedutaan Besar Meksiko di New Delhi pun menyatakan belasungkawa dan mengatakan telah berkoordinasi dengan pihak berwenang Nepal untuk memberikan bantuan konsuler.(Redaksiswanara)
